(Check out those eyes! They are watching me. Her eyes have moved – like normal eyes. That is so cool. She can see. (And do you know how much that cost me? Absolutely worth it.) (Explanation: Aurora had cataracts removed 1.5 yrs ago. She had been blind so long prior to surgery that she did not automagically integrate the new light impulses with behavior. We still say “her eyes aren’t on” – meaning that she has “forgotten” to use her eyeballs for some task. So this picture, as bad as it is, is kind of kewl.)
2) Some lavender

Somewhere in the last few weeks, after receiving Knit One, Knit All, the new Elizabeth Zimmerman book, I (delusionally) decided that I would just knit one of everything in the book. Except I’d never seen the Unspun Icelandic that many of the patterns called for. So I ordered … some. In the picture above, I was figuring out which color would go with which pattern.

So far I have started the cover pattern 5 times, giving up each time around row 8. I can’t seem to count.

I moved onto a different hat. It took me 4 tries to make reasonable right-sided triangle, in garter stitch, decreasing one stitch every other row.

Knitting garter stitch was the right idea, although I could probably handle stockinette – as long as the piece was rectangular.
